World Animal Day

We are an animal family. We LOVE animals of all kinds. From snakes to platypuses (what’s the plural for platypus anyway? platypi? platypus?) Our 2 dogs are a part of our family. The 2 snakes, well. I guess they are too. Oh and I almost forgot we added 2 MORE animals to our crazy household. Phineas and Ferb (the fish – I still don’t remember which one is which).

Animals are so important for so many different reasons to many families and cultures. They provide friendship, rehibilitation, safety, work, money, food, entertainment (ours entertain  us on a daily basis). What would we do without our animals?

October 8 is World Animal Day A day:

  • To celebrate animal life in all its forms
  •

  • To celebrate humankind’s relationship with the animal kingdom
  •

  • To acknowledge the diverse roles that animals play in our lives – from being our companions, supporting and helping us, to bringing a sense of wonder into our lives
  • To acknowledge and be thankful for the way in which animals enrich our lives

I thought I’d share some fun animal crafts you can do with your kids on World Animal Day (October 8th).

  1. I love these images. We have a 3 year old yellow lab, Anna, that is our furry family member. The boys are currently campaigning for dog #2. We're still deciding…

  2. THANK YOU for this beautiful post and link up for the WorldAnimalDay on the 4th of october! Your boys look so cool with those snakes ( a great way for a parnet I guess to over fear?), and the fishes seem indeed also very similar to me 😉 I am in love with all dogs, they connect so sincerely to humans, especially kids!
Lovely greetings from, Angelique and the WorldAnimalDay organisation

  3. We don't have any pets and my 6 year old wants to change that desperately – he would be in heaven at our house
