Cardboard is a favorite material of ours. It’s easy to decorate, sturdy, and even better when it can be broken down! We were recently sent an Easy Playtown Set from Square One Kids to try out for you all. It’s a play set made from cardboard. The whole set comes in it’s own box which turns into the “mat” and has 3 buildings.
You get to decorate the set however you want and it even reverses for more options!

I think it would be great to give this to your kids before you leave for a trip. They can spend the travel time personalizing the mat and buildings and then once you get to where you’re going you hava portable playset to play with! It’s sturdy, portable, and fun!
