We recently saw Despicable Me 2 at an early screening. My kids have been SO excited for this movie to come out – they couldn’t wait. The first movie I wasn’t excited to see from the previews but we ended up loving it in the theaters. It ended up being one of my favorites to watch over and over!

Some info about the movie:

Chris Meledandri and his acclaimed filmmaking team create an all-new comedy adventure featuring the return of (former?) super-villain Gru (Steve Carell), his adorable girls, the unpredictably hilarious Minions…and a host of new and outrageously funny characters in Despicable Me 2. www.despicable.me

Who doesn’t love the Minions? They were definitely our favorites in this movie but there were a couple new characters to learn to love as well!

Overall it was definitely a funny movie. Much like the first there were some silly inuendos, fart jokes (right up my boys’ alley) etc. As a mom I thought it was fun to see Gru take on his roll as a father and juggle his desire to work in the field he loves. He had to deal with boys and a dating life of his own. I thought it was super entertaining although I don’t think I loved it more than the first. I loved hearing the kids in the theater laughing though. That was probably my favorite part.

Colton (9 years) review:

I thought that Despicable Me 2 was very funny and a lot of stuff was unexpected. There was a lot of funny parts throughout the movie. The first scene of the movie was my favorite (you’ll have to see it). There are purple minions and it was cool to see the minions change. Overall the movie was very funny and I really liked it.

Do you have plans to see Despicable Me 2?
