This is a fun, simple activity that you can do after a party before throwing the cups away or that you can put a little more work in and make it a decoration for a room!

You’ll need cups and paperclips, staples or hot glue depending on how you want to assemble it.

We used paper clips since it was simple and on hand. Start by paperclipping a circle of cups together with the mouth pointing out.

Add on in rows using less cups for each row (trying to place the new cups in between the cups on the row below).

It’s ok to have a bit of space, you’ll need some in order to make each row smaller.

We attached each cup to the row below it using one paper clip and then added in more if we felt it needed it.

Add in until 1/2 a sphere is complete. You can make two halves and join them together. We just turned ours over and added directly on to it.

Adding more paperclips where needed for additional support.

It’s really cool used as a light feature with a flashlight or you could stuff an indoor string of lights or very low heat bulb inside!

If you’re using larger 16oz cups you’ll want to use larger paperclips. The boys started on a bigger sphere but realized that we needed to get some larger paperclips to support it.
