The McCormick Scottsdale Kid Date Night

I’ve mentioned before that I love going on “dates” with my kids. It’s important to me to spend one on one time with them every once in a while. While it IS winter – it’s the best time of year here in the Phoenix/Scottsdale area so my youngest and I decided a little winter staycation was in order at The McCormick Scottsdale.

The McCormick ScottsdaleWe have driven by The McCormick SO many times since it’s right on Scottsdale road (just a bit North of Old Town Scottsdale if you’re a frequent visitor). It opened up again not too long ago after a 6 month renovation. With 125 guest rooms it’s the perfect size for a relaxing vacation.

The McCormick Scottsdale

The McCormick ScottsdaleThe rooms were nice, clean and comfortable with great views.

The McCormick ScottsdaleThey are right on the lake and have paddle boat and other rentals (so much fun)! Our favorite part is the heated pool. And with only 125 rooms it’s not going to be super crazy with tons of people. I love that!

The McCormick Scottsdale

The McCormick ScottsdaleOne of the fun touches you can add on (at any Millennium hotel and resort) is the  Ask Alfred Children’s Concierge program. For $15 per child, kids will receive a cinch backpack filled with goodies including: an exclusive cuddly Teddy Bear, Surf Sweets® natural and organic Gummy Bears, a Melissa & Doug® crayon activity set, Alfred’s Lovable Stickables and a set of 12 collectible Color Me postcards. Millennium Hotels and Resorts will donate $2 from each amenity sold to The Dream Factorywhich grants the dreams of critically and chronically ill children. That goes right along with our goal to give back more this year (and to learn more about companies doing just that). Alfred is super cute and we  loved the postcards too!

The McCormick ScottsdaleWhenever we stay locally we like to stay in and just enjoy relaxing. The quiet ambiance is great and the employees were all super friendly. We had a really great, quiet stay and will definitely be recommending The McCormick Scottsdale to local friends as well as out of town guests. If you don’t want to stay in, I mentioned they have water fun, but they also have bikes you can use as well so you’ll never be bored!

The McCormick ScottsdaleSomehow we got super lucky and there was a wedding across the lake with our own personal fireworks show (at least that’s what it felt like on our balcony).

The McCormick ScottsdaleThey have some Winter specials going on now through the end of the month with their  Snow or Shine package, but you can also check out the other specials on their site.

We both loved the extra time together! Have you ever done a vacation or staycation with just one kid at a time? I need to do it more often.

Disclosure: We were offered a night at The McCormick but were not compensated to post. All opinions are our own.
