There are so many new apps and games that come out each month so finding good ones can be hard. When I was introduced to Swingy though, I was instantly intrigued!
Kids are playing with digital devices more than ever so a game that incorporates movement and balance is ideal right?! We got a chance to try out Swingy with the Swing Pong game and the boys were instantly hooked. Ok I was too.
The wooden balance boards are equipped with inertial sensors which connect with the application and enable the Swingy app user to play games with their feet. So in Swing Pong, each sensor controls one of the sliders on the screen.
I can honestly say that it’s fun for the whole family because I may have gotten into a Swing Pong “war” with my kids. We haven’t gotten out of the 50’s for our score yet but we just tried it out so there’s still time. I am, for the time being, the reigning champion 😉 Swingy is such a great mix of the technology kids love and the active play they really need. I can’t wait to see where they go with it!
If your kids aren’t doing things to increase their balance, they should! Balance is the pillar beneath every motor skill we have. Children develop their vestibular system, also known as the balance system, up to the age of 15.
Swingy will be launching VERY soon just launched on Kickstarter today! This is such a great idea and I know many of you are going to love it (oh yeah, your kids too). For the latest info check them out at www.swingy.net, on their Facebook or Twitter you can even sign up for a discount!
