Summer is the “off season” for the Phoenix area but it’s also the best season for locals to plan a staycation. We often tell family and friends to visit this time of year though because even though the temps are up the resort rates are down and you’re more likely to just relax by the pool than try and cram a bunch of activities in which makes for a perfect vacation! Firesky Resort & Spa invited us to stay and check out their property so that we could share our experience here with you!
We have driven by Firesky Resort & Spa more times than I can count. It’s right by all kinds of great dining, shopping and activities in Old Town Scottsdale (home to several of my favorite restaurants in the valley) but we hadn’t ever stayed for a night. We were missing out!
Firesky is renowned for its sandy beach pool, Mediterranean-inspired lagoon and lush tropical landscaping. Summer guests can hit the “beach” at the beach-style pool featuring a sandy shore for sandcastle building to the tune of live music, including acoustic guitar on Saturdays and a steel drum band each Sunday (you guys, steel drums are my #1 fave pool side music choice and one of the top reasons you should choose to stay – talk about setting the atmosphere)!
There aren’t a ton of places in Phoenix you can enjoy your free happy hour wine and wiggle your toes in the sand!
The boys and I loved the pool area, but once you step inside Firesky it’s hard to find a place on the property you won’t love.
The rooms were a great size and comfortable with plenty of room for me to work and for the boys to relax in the air conditioning while they waited for me to finish.
The Jurlique Spa is small but has a great atmosphere with the nicest people working there and they do an amazing job. I had my first facial and definitely recommend a treatment at the spa when you stay. I even saw a little rabbit on my walk to the spa – you can’t get more relaxing than that!
The boys & I spent the most time at the pool though. They loved the atmosphere at night and we were out there for hours! Exactly what we look for when looking for a summer spot in Phoenix!
You can get lunch poolside or rent a cabana if you plan on staying a while.
- The pool is open late so if you want to catch dinner or a movie off property you’ll still have time to enjoy the pool until midnight!
- A hosted evening wine hour is from 4-5 each night!
- Firesky has a shuttle to take you into town if you don’t want to bother with parking which makes it a great choice for busier weekends.
- The are pet friendly! We even noticed a welcome sign for pets along with water when we checked in.
- Check their site for specials for the best deal (or see below!)
