Whether it’s summer or school time not many people (or pets) in this house are morning people so I’m up for anything we can do to speed up our morning routine! I love making snack or breakfast bars ahead of time so that we always have something homemade to grab if we’re running out the door. Most of our breakfast bars include applesauce as a natural, delicious way to sweeten and bind the bars!

My son has been LOVING the previews of The Secret Life Of Pets (we are big dog people, obviously) so when we saw the promotion to purchase any 3 Mott’s® Juices or Applesauce to Receive a Free Child’s Ticket* (Mott’s on pack offer) for The Secret Life of Pets OR purchase any 5 Mott’s Juices or Applesauce to receive an additional $8 movie voucher – we were in (*$9 child admission, restrictions apply! (Note: Offers can be stacked – Purchases of 5 are eligible to receive the Free Child’s Ticket as well as the $8 movie voucher)

I had already bought a few on my last Target run so on this trip we picked up a Mott’s Applesauce Snack and Go 12 Pack in Natural, Mott’s Applesauce 6PK Sauce Cups in Original and a bottle of Mott’s Apple Juice 64oz. My kids (and I) are always grabbing one of those snack and go Mott’s Applesauce Pouches on the way out the door so those were perfect!

Allow to cool and cut into bars or squares. These are perfect for the kids in the family with a sweet tooth because they are naturally sweetened with no added sugar! Plus you can easily adjust them depending on what types of dried fruit, nuts, seeds or chocolate chips you like or have on hand. This is a great recipe to show the kids that making smart snack choices is easy and SO good!

  1. These granola bars look so delicious! I love using applesauce in our granola recipes, but using the pouch is a brilliant idea! I bet my 3 year old (okay, the 6 and 7 year olds, too) would love squeezing it out into the bowl for this recipe! (client)
