We’re sharing our #AFTBYearofAdventure with #LISTERINE as part of a sponsored series for Socialstars™ #BringOutTheBold
If you’ve been following along you know we’re definitely having a year of adventure! Big adventures or little adventures, they all take us a little bit out of our comfort zone. LISTERINE®’s Bring Out the Bold™ campaign has inspired us to try new and different things this year and the latest one was just for me – surfing!
My mom asked if I wanted to take lessons with her and I said YES! I’m always the one on the sidelines taking pictures, watching our things or watching the boys. This was an opportunity for me to “Bring Out the Bold” and do something that may not be “normal” for Mom (and Grandma) to do.
It was SO much fun. We definitely fell a lot.
And laughed even more.
I did stand up a few times, but if you’ve never done it before it’s definitely harder than it looks (especially when you need to get back into your workout routine).
I don’t know about you, but I LOVE doing things like this. My self consciousness tends to get in the way sometimes though. I want to look like one of the cute professional surfers, but that’s not going to happen for so many reasons ha!
It takes a bit of BOLD to get that out of my head and just do it. I’ve never regretted taking that step and doing something fun and out of my comfort zone though. I am so thankful for family that supports me.
If you decide to go surfing yourself I do have one tip – bring food! After we were done, had put away the boards and got back to the car, I was starving. Next time I’m packing at least a peanut butter and jelly!
What will you do this month to Bring Out the Bold?! I encourage you to do something new, a bit out of your comfort zone. It feels amazing!

The boldest thing I have done is flying in a bi-plane, and it was the most fun thing I have ever done!
Oh how fun!!! I love planes and have never been in a bi-plane before. What a cool experience!
I’m writing a children’s book!
Oh wow! I’ve always kind of wanted to do that but have never considered myself a “writer”. Can’t wait to hear more about it! Will you share info when you can?!
