As you know, the boys and I are BIG fans of road trips. Long ones or short ones, we don’t care. With me homeschooling (likely my last year for my 8th grader) we can take off on road trips whenever we feel like it, or whenever a fun “field trip” is calling. We got to borrow the 2016 Mitsubishi Outlander Sport 2.4 GT for a week and deemed it the perfect excuse for a day trip to one of my favorite cities in the state – Prescott, AZ.
As many times as we’ve been there’s always something new to check out so we decided to visit the Sharlot Hall Museum and LOVED it!
So much Arizona history and lots of conversations sparked from visiting. My favorite was the oldest log cabin in AZ.
The boys loved learning all kinds of new things about Arizona.
After the museum we headed to Heritage Park Zoo. It’s non-profit wildlife sanctuary, dedicated to the conservation and protection of native and exotic animals. It was small but well maintained and quiet. We loved it too.
After the zoo we went to one of our favorite spots for a quick hike – Watson Lake.
Isn’t that change of scenery incredible?! The weather up North is cooling off quicker than here in the valley so we had to take advantage of the weather!
We were all comfortable in the 2016 Mitsubishi Outlander Sport 2.4 GT and the boys definitely tried out the nine-speaker 710-watt Rockford Fosgate premium sound system (Beastie Boys are our band of choice for checking out how a sound system handles 😉 )
It has plenty of room and was a comfortable ride all the way up to Prescott and back. If you’re looking for a family car (or just something with a little more room) this would fit the bill. The back seats fold down to allow more room in the back but there is plenty of room (and some to spare) for a Target run.
One of all of our favorite features on the road trip though, is the panoramic glass roof that comes on the GT.
The boys commented on how cool that would have been on our trip to Yosemite and I have to agree!
The 2.4 L 4-cylinder handled well on the highway and didn’t feel too sluggish going up and down the mountains. It was great in the city as well. We all agreed that it is super cute (which let’s be honest IS important) and had lots of great features built in. Check it out if you’re looking for something to fit your busy lifestyle and haven’t given these a look yet (we hadn’t)!

Just wanted to say that I have been reading/following your blog for a while now. The ads are getting so frustrating. I love the pics & reading between them but often times on my phone it is really just not worth it. The ads fill up the entire screen & trying to x out of them I inadvertently click on them. Anyway, as a follower I thought you would want to know! Thanks! Natalie
