We’ve been sharing some gifts of experience wrapping ideas lately and I’ve been thinking a lot about the holidays, gift ideas and getting the boys involved with more of the gift giving this year. They already love coming up with gift ideas for family but my 12 year old also has my love of wrapping gifts!Ideas for wrapping gifts of experience
I thought I’d put together a little wrapping kit for him to have everything on hand to wrap any type of gift. Selfishly it’s so the gifts won’t completely clash under the tree, but really, I love that he loves to wrap and want him to be excited to help me this year.Ideas for wrapping gifts of experience

I was completely out of tape so I picked up a Scotch® Magic™ Tape 3 Pack Caddie in the wrapping area of Walmart and a set of Scotch® Tape with Free Dispenser to make it easier for him to use the tape! You can stock up on Scotch® Brand wrapping products early and save, with a 50% bonus and Rollback. Ideas for wrapping gifts of experience

I have tape, scissors, several types of ribbon, clothespins and tags all in a box for him to quickly grab when he’s ready to wrap. I even made up a brand new printable box wrap to go with my “woodland” theme this year. DOWNLOAD HEREIdeas for wrapping gifts of experienceOne experience we want to give this year to our friends this year is a camping trip. We’ve been talking about it for a few years so we suggested doing that instead of exchanging gifts. Actually sitting down, setting a date and doing it! We found a stuffed fire ornament that was perfect to wrap up to announce our gift idea.Ideas for wrapping gifts of experience

To wrap up the perfect ornament to announce your gift of experience, cut the printable band out, wrap around a box and tape on the bottom.Ideas for wrapping gifts of experience Ideas for wrapping gifts of experienceWrap with a string and add any “extras” to make it festive and fun.Ideas for wrapping gifts of experience

Another idea we had was a week of dates. The recipient gets to choose from a list of simple dates to do every day of the week for one whole week. Things like: picnic dinner, go out for frozen yogurt, go for a bike ride, visit the pet store or even just eat dinner by candlelight are all really simple but special “date” ideas to give kids or family members to ensure that you’re setting time aside just for them. To gift a week of dates we taped the letters “S, M, T, W, T, F, S” to a large piece of ribbon.Ideas for wrapping gifts of experience Ideas for wrapping gifts of experience

The ribbon was then taped to the bottom of a boxIdeas for wrapping gifts of experience

and carefully folded in, this way when it’s slowly pulled out you can read each day of the week!Ideas for wrapping gifts of experience

Wrapped up simply or with fun accessories it’s a great way to gift the gift of time.Ideas for wrapping gifts of experience Ideas for wrapping gifts of experience Ideas for wrapping gifts of experience

Big experience gifts call for big boxes, place tickets or a photo of a destination into a box and wrap simply with ribbon. Attach tags with some tape. You can always add in some rocks or other items to throw off the recipient!Ideas for wrapping gifts of experience Ideas for wrapping gifts of experienceIdeas for wrapping gifts of experience

So why Scotch® Brand tape? It’s what I always buy first of all, but also we learned that they are donating $200,000 to Fisher House this holiday season.Fisher House is a charity that provides a network of comfort homes where military and veterans’ families can stay at no cost while a loved one is receiving treatment. Colton researched many military based charities last year and after interviewing family members and searching online he chose the Fisher House to donate ALL his birthday money to.aftb-scotch-wrapping-20 Ideas for wrapping gifts of experience

Now he gets their magazine regularly and can’t wait to sit down and check it out when it comes in. We’ll be donating again this year and you can too – check out Marine Staff Sergeant Scott’s story and donate here. Looking for more wrapping inspiration? Check out what others are doing here.
