I created these “want need wear read” printables with #LISTERINE as part of a sponsored series for Socialstars™ #BringOutTheBold
We started doing something different with Christmas gifts a few years ago to simplify the holidays. When the boys make their wish lists it’s super simple and concise. They list something they want, something they need, something to wear and something to read. Now, as someone who loves to give gifts I don’t always stick to that list but it’s made a huge difference in the long list of requests during the holiday season. It’s also helped the boys come up with things they really want or think they’d use. Since taking on LISTERINE®’s Bring Out the Bold™ campaign challenge this year I’ve seen the boys asks change a bit. This year they both asked for travel supplies, a skateboard (since they loved their lessons at the Vans Skatepark) and books about new hobbies they picked up since trying to break out of their comfort zone and be bolder. If you also do this type of gift giving I made up some printable labels this year I thought you might like!
Just print out, punch a hole and add to a gift.
I made black and white labels as well as the super popular buffalo plaid.
You can use a small clip to attach to the gift or punch a hole and just string it on.
I love this method of gift giving because it can work for different years as your budget changes. I’ve done really simple inexpensive gifts and more elaborate themed gift baskets. This year for something they need I thought about putting together a travel kit for my teen with a brand new toothbrush, COOL MINT® LISTERINE® Antiseptic Mouthwash (which is his favorite), new chargers, razor etc. all placed in a travel toiletry bag.
I started buying him the COOL MINT® LISTERINE® Antiseptic Mouthwash because it is the only nationally branded antimicrobial mouthwash to receive the ADA Seal of Acceptance for fighting plaque and gingivitis and was recommended by his dentist and orthodontist.
Here are some other ideas for “something you need”
- new shoes if they’ve grown out
- new school supplies if they’re into that sort of thing
- sport supplies
- a giant supply of their favorite snack (food is always a true need but the snack part is fun)
- sunglasses or other accessories for an upcoming trip
- new bed set, blanket or furniture
I also use the “something you need” to talk about what is REALLY a need in life and how what we consider going into this category is truly a blessing and things we should be thankful for.
I love how their gift lists have changed after trying to come up with BOLD things to do this year and stepping out of our comfort zone! Do you do the want, need, wear, read gift giving? Even if you don’t you could use these tags to attach to gifts you’re giving as a fun little hint to what’s inside.
