Goals for 2017: Giving Back

We may earn money or products from the companies mentioned in this post. Please see policies for more information.

Our goals for giving back in 2017 come strictly from our hearts. We are so grateful to #LISTERINE for being a part of our year with this series for Socialstars™ #BringOutTheBold

If you’ve been following us this year you’ve seen us try some new things, come up with new ideas and generally have a ton of fun since taking on LISTERINE®’s Bring Out the Bold™ campaign challenge. We aren’t big “resolution” people but do try to work towards a common goal each year. For 2017 we want to take a HUGE step in giving back more and I’m so thankful to Listerine for helping us kick start the new year!Giving back in 2017

Not only do we use Listerine in our oral care (speaking of oral care I’m literally running out the door to the dentist as I finish this post lol!) but I always add some to my care packages that I deliver to shelters in the area. I love that they have options for kids, no alcohol and the regular favorite LISTERINE® TOTAL CARE FRESH MINT Anticavity Mouthwash. It prevents cavities, restores minerals to enamel, strengthens teeth, kills bad-breath germs and freshens breath so definitely a huge benefit to anyone, but not something that everyone has access to.Giving back in 2017

I love giving back and do occasionally but not nearly enough. It’s strictly a selfish time thing for me. I just don’t make the time (or enough/more time) to give back as much as I want to. We’re going to change that next year. We’re going to be bolder with our intentions and activities. To start, I’m taking a load over today to the Sojourner Women’s Center in Phoenix.Giving back in 2017

The Sojourner Center is a domestic violence service organization. They provide emergency shelter, transitional housing, domestic violence education, safety planning, lay-legal advocacy, case management, a child development center, 24-hour crisis hotline, referral services, community education and healthcare through an on-site clinic. They have a donation center that is only available to their residents and provides much needed

  • Clothing for school, work, interviews, and daily wear
  • Household items such as lamps, small appliances, furniture and linens
  • Children’s items such as high chairs, strollers, and toys
  • Personal hygiene products for babies, children and adults

They have a wish list online and keep an updated list of their major needs online so I try to stick to that. Giving supplies and gently used clean household products is such a small thing and part out of our day to do but can make a HUGE difference in someones life. I don’t want to dwell on how much we DIDN’T do last year but instead look on doing much, much more in 2017. I’m going to be making a blog post with a list of ways you and your kids can give back together if you’re in the same boat as me.Giving back in 2017 Giving back in 2017

Huge thanks to Listerine for inspiring us to be BOLD this year and for taking action to be even bolder in 2017. What are your new year’s goals?!
