April 1st will be here before you know it! I’ve never been a HUGE prank fan but a little harmless one where everyone can laugh is always fun. I did this super simple prank one year and when I finally revealed what I did, the boys thought it was hilarious! Even if you don’t “do” April Fool’s day you can keep this easy prank as an idea just in case you need it one day.
1 Minute Prank Prep:
All you have to do is stuff some tissues, tissue paper or paper towels into the toe of their shoes the night before. Stuff it in nice and tight. You don’t want to fill too much where they can see it before they put it on, but enough so that their toes are pretty squished when (or if) they can get their feet in there.
Once it’s time to leave they’ll have a hard time getting their feet to fit. It will be even better if they have been eating and sleeping a lot or complaining of growing pains. You can start talking about how they must have just grown so fast overnight. Mine started panicking that they wouldn’t have shoes to wear to school when I finally decided to show them what I did.
“Mooooom” was the response but then they laughed for quite a while about how I fooled them. SO simple but a really fun and sill prank that anyone can pull off last minute for April Fool’s Day. Sometimes I’ll do pranks on March 31 just to throw them off a bit. This would be a good one for that since they might be a little more suspicious on the first if you normally pull little pranks.
P.S. this works for adults too 😉
Looking for more simple prank ideas? I have several more coming this year! You can also check out our easy faucet, water bottle or condiment bottle pranks. Now hopefully I’ve instilled the thought that pranks are fun to do to your family if they are simple, silly and harmless. Their future roommates or spouses can thank me later!
