Free Disneyland Holiday Offerings to Savor at the Resort

The Disneyland Resort is a beautiful place to visit during the holiday season. The usual magic is cranked up to eleven, and you can feel the magic everywhere. Disneyland resort offers multiple day packages, which you would need to buy to experience everything holiday. They have transformed both parks and added festive overlays to some of their best attractions. On top of that, there is new Disneyland holiday season entertainment, like the Season of Light edition of Wonderful World of Color and the holiday fireworks at Disneyland. Free Disneyland holiday offerings are also available in the resort.

Guests visiting the Downtown Disney District through January 5 will discover a vibrant showcase of 200 UV neon trees of various colorful shades and sizes sprawled throughout for the holidays. More than 10,000 individual plants and 30 topiaries live around the trees to further enhance the planters, complemented by 24 hanging baskets filled with poinsettias, cyclamen and dusty miller. The holidays are so big at Disneyland Resort; there is even a Festival of the Holidays at Disney’s California Adventure. There is seriously so much to explore. However, you can also drop by for an afternoon or evening of free Disneyland holiday fun, as well. There is nothing wrong with just taking a quick break to surround yourself with Disney and some of the free holiday stuff you can enjoy while you are there.

Four Resort Destinations; Zero Tickets Required

While many of the big holiday attractions and events are happening behind the gates of Disneyland and Disney’s California Adventure, there is still plenty to explore without paying for a ticket. The Disneyland Resort is made up of three separate hotels and one colossal shopping, dining, and entertainment district. You can roam about these areas of the resort and get your dose of holiday cheer without paying a cent. The central place where most of the holiday action is in 2019 is Downtown Disney.

Downtown Disney Free Disneyland Holiday Experiences

Downtown Disney is free to explore, but you do have to watch out for parking. The Downtown Disney parking lot is essentially a 15-minute zone unless you make a $20 minimum purchase while you are there. A purchase entitles you to 3 hours. You may want to consider an alternative way to get to Downtown Disney unless you do plan on spending at least a little bit of money on Disneyland holiday season festivities. The good news is that there is no admission fee, and you don’t have to purchase anything if you don’t want to. even a 15-minute stroll through the lights and decorations is enough to warm your spirit.

Downtown Disney is not only beautiful during the holidays; the music that fills the air enhances the mood even more. You can window shop to your heart’s delight and enjoy samples of festive holiday treats as you stroll passed Salt and Straw, Starbucks, Wetzel’s Pretzels, and more. If that’s not enough, free live entertainment also appears nightly.

The Hotels Free Disneyland Holiday Decor

The Disneyland Hotel has a mid-Century Modern Vibe that celebrates the early days of Disneyland, and all of it’s magic The holiday decor there fits the theme, which is what makes each hotel so worth making the journey for. The unique character of each resort shines through in the individual decor. The Grand Californian has a huge lobby with rich tones, a giant hearth, and a Christmas Tree in the center. It’s the perfect spot to enjoy a hot chocolate or a holiday cocktail on a chilly winter’s day.

DISNEY’S GRAND CALIFORNIAN HOTEL & SPA (Anaheim, Calif.) – A highlight at Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel & Spa is the giant gingerbread replica of the hotel in the lobby. Standing 7 feet tall and 12 feet wide, the structure is created from more than 600 pounds of gingerbread, 600 pounds of powdered sugar, 250 pounds of fondant, 1 pound of “pixie dust” glitter and features 25 hidden Mickeys.
