Pirate ships in a bottle (the easy way) from All for the BoysI’ve always thought that the old ship in a bottle craft/display/collectible was so cool. There are little kits you can build to make your own but they aren’t really a quick craft OR geared toward younger ages. This one however, is simple, easy and fun!

Start by cutting a cork in half. Use toothpicks, pins or a cut skewer to poke into the corks to hold the ever important flags.

Next, prepare the bottle. You’ll need any plastic bottle and a craft knife. Have an adult cut a “u” shape in the back of the bottle big enough to fit the boats in.

While the bottle is drying (if it isn’t already) attach the flags to the ships. Then carefully place the ships in the bottle being careful not to ruin your flags. Also make sure you’re careful with the edges of the cut plastic, they could be sharp.

Proudly display your creation or just play with the bottle like my boys did.

I think the cork is appropriate for a pirate ship don’t you 😉 I love all things pirates (and Captain Hook) so I’m excited to see an all new movie from the world of Peter Pan – Disney’s The Pirate Fairy.  You can own It On Blu-rayâ„¢ and Digital HD Apr 1. We have Tinkerbell fans in our extended family so the boys actually know more about the Fairies than I thought they did lol! We get to see a young Captain Hook and an adorable baby crocodile in this one!
