Go See ANNIE at ASU Gammage!

Since I started taking the boys to stage productions they’ve asked more and more often what is coming to town. I also think it played a HUGE role in my 11 year old’s new found love of theater (he played Gaston in Beauty & the Beast and is now cast as Shrek in Shrek Jr for a local production group). I am so excited to surprise them early next month to see ANNIE right here in the Phoenix/Tempe area at ASU Gammage!

“The world’s best-loved musical returns in time-honored form. Directed by original lyricist and director Martin Charnin and choreographed by Liza Gennaro, this production of ANNIE will be a brand new incarnation of the iconic original.

Featuring book and score by Tony Award®-winners Thomas Meehan, Charles Strouse and Martin Charnin, ANNIE includes such unforgettable songs as “It’s the Hard Knock Life,” “Easy Street,” “I Don’t Need Anything But You,” plus the eternal anthem of optimism, “Tomorrow.””

I think the hardest part will be NOT singing along 😉

How amazing is it that the title role of Annie, Issie Swickle, is a 10-year-old actress from Davie, FL, making her tour debut! I know the boys will love Sunny, a 5-year-old rescue terrier mix who stars as Sandy. I can’t wait to see them and the rest of the amazing cast May 4-8th.

This will be a perfect date night with your kids or something the whole family can do together. We love to make it a fun night out with dinner and then they always want a special snack at the theater. It’s become a family date night tradition that all of us love!
