Disclosure: Thanks to National Geographic Kids and Toyota Highlander for sponsoring this post and thank you for supporting us!
I am teaming up with Nat Geo Kids and Toyota Highlander to help them complete one of my boys’ long term goals – to set a Guinness World record! It’s super easy for you to help too.
They are creating the world’s largest toilet-paper-roll sculpture. It’ll be built in the shape of a rocket! They are going to need about 5,000 toilet-paper-roll tubes to build a rocket sculpture big enough to set the record. So they need quite a few of us to help by sending in toilet paper rolls. That’s it!
You can decorate your rolls too so you/your kids have a personalized spot in the Guinness World record winning sculpture. You’ll just need to send in a permission form if you do decide to decorate them. Check out their site for all kinds of fun information and the Launch Party.
They have fun facts, information on how to build rockets, space travel quizzes, STEM content and more to celebrate the launch of the world record attempt!
We love rockets around here too! While you’re waiting to see the huge toilet paper roll sculpture, why not create some rockets of your own at home? Here are some rocket themed ideas for you:
The film canister rockets are one of our favorite activities.
These paper straw rockets are even easier!
The tea rockets are always a kid pleaser (parent supervision required).
We even have ideas for an easy rocket party.
Don’t throw away the balloons from your party without having a balloon rocket race!
Now we need to go make a run to the post office to submit our contribution to the Guinness World record. The unveiling will take place in June. I wish we could see it in person but we’ll have to settle for the Nat Geo Kids site instead. Who else is going to help out?!
