Have you seen the full trailer for Maleficent? It looks amazing!! My youngest (9) was the only one not too sure and as soon as he saw the knights he was in! I love this storyline and the imaging looks awesome. So excited to see this film!

So good right?! Since we like to create crafts and activities from things we are inspired by we decided to make up a shield this weekend.

Super easy but such a fun toy/accessory to have. Cut your shield shape out of cardboard or foam board.

You can paint, color, paste etc however you want. We chose to cover ours with duct tape. To create a handle tear a strip of duct tape and then stick a smaller piece on top so there are only sticky parts on the ends.

Stick the ends to the back of the shield to create a handle. You could do the same with a strip of cardboard for a stiffer handle.

That’s it!

A knight needs a dragon to slay so we needed some dragon wings.

A cereal box makes a great base since there are already folds at a perfect spot for the center of wings.

We also covered the wings in duct tape

Trim the edges off

Punch holes in the center to pull a string through.

She looks thrilled doesn’t she?
