I love science (I don’t think that’s a secret)! This fun activity looks at the reaction between UV light and phosphors.

All you need is a UV blacklight we just used a 9LED version (the small ones), vaseline and gloves (optional). You can also gather other items to test like tonic water or the insert of a highlighter soaked in water.
Spread vaseline all over your gloved hand (this makes cleanup A LOT easier).
Then, go into a dark space and see what your hand looks like under the blacklight!
See what other items react. Tonic water has quinine a chemical which contains phosphors like the vaseline.
