This post is sponsored by The Motherhood in partnership with Procter and Gamble in an effort to help get this awesome product to more families that need it.
Last year I did a fun experiment with the boys to show them how the P&G Purifier of Water packets work. It was such a great way to have a little fun while opening up a conversation about the 663 million people that lack access to an improved water source (According to World Health Organization (WHO)/UNICEF (2014)) and the fact that 1,000 children are dying each day due to diseases caused by contaminated drinking water (WHO 2015). We have never had to think about where our water would come from next so talking about this with them is so important to me.
These packets are honestly a miracle. One tiny packet can clean enough water for a family of 5 for 1 day and uses readily available household implements—a bucket, stir stick, and a filter cloth. It’s one thing to talk about how it works but to be able to see it for yourself is even better!
You can P&G Purifier of Water packets for a super simple (but really awesome) science project you can do with your kids at home. This would be perfect for a spring break activity!
For each set of packets purchased you will be donating 3 months’ worth of clean drinking water to a child i a developing country. ($1.80 will be donated to the Children’s Safe Drinking Water Fund, which is a charitable fund managed by the Greater Cincinnati Foundation.
