Unplugged Family Picnic with Capri Sun

As the boys get older I notice that our “unplugged” time needs to be more intentional. Since it was forecasted to be 115 degrees in Phoenix this last weekend we thought we’d take an hour or so drive up north to Prescott for a little picnic and family time!

We brought up the fishing poles and a picnic basket filled with some favorites.

For the boys I like to buy Capri Sun 100% Juice. The boys love it and it’s easy to find in stores. It’s 100% juice, all natural, AND the pouch is lots of fun afterwards. Capri Sun Super V Fruit and Vegetable Juice Drink has 1 combined serving of fruits AND vegetables*, is a good source of antioxidants A, C & E, and is a good source of fiber!

Capri Sun 100% Juice is always fun to buy because it’s something my husband and I drank as kids and my husband gets to teach my kids the things he did as a kid. Like after you’re done with your juice, blow up the bag.

Bite (to close) and bend up the end of the straw.

Set the pouch down and stomp! Your straw will go flying! You can blow the pouch back up through the hole.

When we go camping or on picnics like this I encourage the boys to “explore.” So much of their normal day is spent doing assigned work at school, so I want to make sure they know how to just play without instruction or direction.

An empty Capri Sun 100% Juice pouch makes a GREAT inspection/gathering bag when you cut the top off.

We love any excuse to unplug and spend time together. What do you do to unplug and connect as a family?

* Each pouch provides 1/2 cup of fruit and vegetable juice. According to U.S. dietary guidelines, Capri Sun Super V Fruit and Vegetable Drink contains one combined serving of fruit and vegetables–3/4 from fruit juice and 1/4 from vegetable juice. Be sure to feed your kids a variety of whole fruits and vegetables each day.
