Best Resort Pools in Phoenix for Kids

Phoenix is the best place to have a relaxing resort vacation. Why? Because it’s hot and you’re not too tempted to go crazy fitting a bunch of activities in. You’ll just want to lay by the pool and relax. It’s also dry which means the pool cools you off perfectly.

We’veĀ been to some great and some not so great pools in the area. Being a mom changes my opinion a bit but we visited some area pools to tell you why you’d want to visit them with the kids. If you live in the area, do yourself a favor and plan a stay cation weekend before the summer is over. Leave all the work, laundry and cleaning behind and relax at one of these gorgeous locations.

Hyatt Regency Scottsdale Gainey Ranch

The Hyatt Regency Scottsdale has done an amazing job creating such a relaxing atmosphere in their pool area. I don’t know if it’s the waterfalls, the music or some combination but it never feels busy even if the lounge chairs are filling in. The boys love the sand beach, basketball hoops and of course the water slide.

Hyatt Regency ScottsdaleThe cabanas are also really great with nice fans, misters, a fridge and even a tv! Their summer specials include free meals and golf for the kids! This one is a family favorite and a “regular” choice for us.

Arizona Biltmore

The Arizona Biltmore is a new favorite. We had never been before but really loved the resort when we checked it out. They have some really awesome cabanas (ours even had a bathroom in it). A water slide through a water fall (which made it easy for the boys to know whether the slide was open or not) and light, bright pools which made it super easy for me to watch them in the water. I really loved the attention to design detail they had in the area as well.

Arizona BiltmoreThey have some great summer activities and specials as well.

all-for-the-memories-westin-titleThe Westin Kierland is another one that we hadn’t been to until this last month. They have a great pool area for families including the boys’ favorite the FlowRider. With lots of fun poolside activities throughout the day, a slide and lazy river this pool area has plenty for families (they also have an adult only pool). You won’t want to miss the nighttime light show either. We may have to go back just for a drink and to watch the light show by the golf course!

Westin Kierland

The Westin Kierland is saying Aloha to Summer with all kinds of specials, activities and entertainment that you’ll definitely want to check out!

JW MarriottThe JW Marriott is a favorite golf course of Dad’s so we were excited to try out the pool area here. They have lots of options to families with kids of all ages from the lazy river, water slide, waterfall island and even a splash pad! It’s spread out enough that you don’t feel like you’re packed in even on a busy day. We loved the landscaping and how beautiful the walk around the area was. The lazy river was a good length around and it was fun to be able to see the golf course from the pool as well.

JW Marriott

We like their Fling & Swing summer package with resort credit, golf, meals and more.

Pointe Hilton Squaw PeakThe Pointe Hilton Squaw Peak is definitely a local favorite for many. They have a whole western themed water park where the boys loved the views on the lazy river and the big waterfall. It’s harder to watch the kids here unless you’re moving around with them so keep that in mind if you have younger ones. The boys ended up playing volleyball in the pool with other families and had a great time!

Pointe Hilton Squaw PeakThey have themed Summer Flashback activities going on throughout summer along with their great specials.

WigwamThe Wigwam is a bit farther West than the rest but they have some really fun activities around the pool. While we were there they were playing Frozen games with ice. SO fun! I recommend a cabana if you’re staying for a while. The boys of course loved the water slide.

Wigwam

They have several summer packages to choose from that are great for traveling in or for staycations.

We have a few more on our radar that we didn’t get to test out yet. We love Phoenix in the summer and a resort weekend is the best way to spend a day here!
