I’ve been meaning to paint the nightstand in my youngest’s room since we renovated it earlier this year. I love the original color but there were tons of huge chunks taken out of it from the previous owner (that my husband had already fixed with wood filler) so re-staining it wasn’t an option. I told him he could choose what color it would be and he wanted grey with blue stripes. I was a bit hesitant but agreed.
I got his colors of paint and some ScotchBlue™ Painter’s Tape Delicate Surfaces with Advanced Edge-Lock™ Paint Line Protector 2080EL. I love that it’s specifically for delicate surfaces including fresh paint! (24 hours old).
I painted the entire nightstand with 2 coats of grey paint and let cure completely overnight.
The next day I measured out my stripes and used the ScotchBlue™ Painter’s Tape Delicate Surfaces with Advanced Edge-Lock™ Paint Line Protector to create my lines.
I brushed the paint on starting over the tape and into my line, giving it 2 good coats.
Once dry, I removed the tape and couldn’t believe the amazing job it did. I seriously didn’t have to touch up one bit! It came off easily and without damaging the paint underneath.
Here it is back in his room and he was so excited to see his idea come to life.
