Go RVing – Our Dream RV Road Trip

We may earn money or products from the companies mentioned in this post. Please see policies for more information.

If you’re a return reader you already know that we LOVE adventures. Jared and I LOVE the outdoors and have talked about a major road trip in an RV with our kids (furry and human) since before we were married. We have a folding camping trailer and love quick trips and exploring our state with it. This dream, however, is a bit bigger.

Our dream RV road trip is about 8 days, 7 nights, 1800 miles, 2 boys, 2 dogs, beach, mountains, trees, water and inevitably LOTS of memories. This road trip definitely would not be the same without an RV. Why? So many reasons! Go RVing is an awesome site to check out why, when and how RV road trips work.

We can take the dogs (Chance LOVES being with his Mama and Kona loves the outdoors as much as we do).

We can be comfortable! 1800 miles is a LOT and an RV is just the ultimate way to go with a lot less “are we there yet”s.

Mostly, there’s just something so magical about sleeping, eating and just being close to the outdoors. Something that pulls the family together, gets us off our phones, breathing fresh air and discovering new things about the world. An RV is awesome because you can stay at a variety of places with more or less amenities depending on the type of getaway you’re looking for.

Our dream trip would take us from Phoenix, AZ to Huntington Beach, CA and surrounding area.

Chance - rescued by Hope for Paws

Some of you may remember that our youngest boy Chance was rescued from South Central Los Angeles by Eldad from Hope for Paws and friends. (You can see his rescue vid here, dancing with Cadence here, welcome home and 1 year) Well, I spoke to Eldad and we’ve decided that if we get the chance to go out with the dogs we’re going to have an awesome Hope for Paws reunion! Stay tuned for details if you want to know more, but the dog lovers will definitely want to see it!

Then off to the adorable town of Solvang that I am dying to take photos of!

Then up to Big Sur for a bit more beach time, but an area that the boys or I have never been!

From there we’d head to a place that was a favorite spot of Jared’s as a boy. A place where he took many memorable RV trips with HIS family – Mammoth Lakes, CA. From there we can check out Yosemite, go fishing, hiking and all the fun camping activities we love.

From Mammoth we’ll think about heading home but not for one more stop and some fly fishing lessons from Dad in Big Bear.

So many things to do and see and they are all so much better in an RV! While we can stop at some awesome restaurants along the way, I have the benefit of having a husband who can cook so we can eat well the whole trip even if we don’t sit down at a restaurant!

Why am I sharing my crazy dream with you? Because you actually have the chance to help us make it come true! Do you love my idea of a dream RV road trip? Do you just want to see our crazy adventures? Or maybe you want Chance to blog his view of the trip? Either way, I’d LOVE for you to check out the Go RVing Facebook Contest – from May 1 – May 31st 20 bloggers (including myself) will be featured on the Go RVing Facebook page. Voters (that’s you) can nominate their favorite RV vacation blog post for a chance to win a $500 Gift Card and to help me win the chance to execute my Dream RV Trip this Spring/Summer 2015 (in which you KNOW I’ll document all the fun along the way)! A winner will be announced on Monday, June 1st.

If you’re like me and have always wanted to take an awesome RV road trip, definitely check out GoRVing.com for tons of info and inspiration. I get lost on their site dreaming up trips to take with the family! You can also follow them on Facebook / Twitter / Pinterest / YouTube.
