I admit, I’m a weird parent who likes the cheapy dollar toys. You know the ones. The ones that break the same day or that get stuck to the ceiling only to stay there for months because it’s vaulted and no one can reach it? Yeah those ones. Ever since the boys were little I’ve loved to keep some of these in my purse. They are perfect for long, unexpected waits or for days when you want to make the kids smile.
I picked these cute ones up at Target recently because I had a fun idea for Halloween! You can play these for a Halloween party or just because on any random day. After I made these my tween boys sat and played with the popper spiders for a good 15 minutes (dad might have joined in too). Exactly the reason I love these things.
For the games you’ll just need our spider web printables. Print one page, all 3 or even more and position them differently to change the direction of the center point.
Using the pop-up spiders try and see who can get their spider to land closest to the center. This is fun to do with the spider web on the ground and making the spiders jump from off a table. They aren’t accurate at all, but that’s half the fun. If you can find the plastic jumping spiders (like the frogs) those would be great for this too!
For the other game, you can laminate the webs or put them in a page protector with the holes cut off like I did. You can also just tape them directly to the wall!
Fling the sticky spiders to land on the webs, moving farther back each time.
My boys love simple games like this because their dad usually joins in. He can’t resist a good challenge 😉 Have fun and let me know if you use these in another way! There are so many fun games you could come up with using these spider web targets!
