Start with a small long object like a pencil, butter knife, straw etc. Place it in your grip with your other hand around your wrist (this works well if the object is a little heavier too you can pretend you need help keeping your hand up.

Place the index finger of your opposite hand over the object and press it against the palm of the hand holding it. Then slowly release the fingers from the grip of the hand holding the pencil.
