Caine’s Arcade

If you haven’t seen this video yet you must watch it. It brought a huge smile to my face and my boys thought it was pretty cool too. Thanks so much Nirvan Mullick for bringing Cain to us.

Cain is a 9 year old boy who created an entire arcade out of cardboard boxes. His creativity and attention to detail is so pure and inspiring.

Encourage your kids’ creativity, support them, and nourish their ingenuity. I love the simple, creative minds of children. Sometimes (maybe a lot of the time) we need to take away the electronics and let them create on their own. Go outside and play!

And I SO would have bought a fun pass.

  1. I love this story! What a great kid! I love his relentless spirit !!

  2. My cousin recently brought this film to my attention. I was blown away, and the thing that kept running thru my head was, "what if this Dad had given him a DVD player to occupy his time, or allowed him to indulge himself on a handheld gaming device? What a waste THAT would have been instead of allowing this very clever boy to let his imagination run with boxes and packing tape at his disposal. It's possible many kids will never have the chance to find out what they're capable of because the value of a good imagination and the time kids need to exercise it is so overlooked,. This story gave me pause for thought on many levels as a parent.

  3. I love this little boy! and the man that made his day <3 I just had a discussion with my 6 year old yesterday…begging him to step away from the computer and play outside and why?! I am going to show him this video and unplug the computer!!!! thank you 🙂

  4. 1. Celeste, I completely agree with you
    2. This is such an amazing story. This boy is so imaginative & so sweet. What a fantastic community to flash mob him & support his entrepreneurial spirit.

  5. I absolutely loved this and am going to show it to my boys tomorrow. (They're sleeping right now.) My second son is always creating with paper and scotch tape, so I know this video is going to be lots of fun for him to watch. Thanks so much for sharing!

  6. I LOVE this story! And I love how the father let him use the boxes and packaging tape and got other things for him to use for his arcade…and didn't just discount it as silliness but really let his son create something amazing.
