I had a few questions about this so I thought I’d do a little post showcasing some Holiday gift ideas you may not think about. Grandmas, Aunts, Uncles, Friends etc sometimes have trouble knowing what to get kids if they haven’t gotten “the list”. And parents sometimes just want to get their kids something a little different. Here are a few items along with their age range. If it’s useful I’ll do it again next Monday!
Wreck This Journal by Keri Smith
My boys thought this book was so funny. It’s a fun creative outlet – the book tells you to do things like crumple the page, or step on it, or use it to test your markers and other more destructive things. I’d say this works for ages 7-100
Similar to wreck this journal are these “diaries” with fun prompts
Sticking with the book theme I’m getting this for my oldest.
Papertoy Monsters: Make Your Very Own Amazing Papertoys!
From the looks of it it looks like it would be good for ages 8 and up and if your kids are on the younger age of that range be prepared to help. I don’t mind helping so I put the younger age in there, but it does take a little longer of an attention span and some help punching out the forms.
For the kiddos that like rockets (and even if they don’t) this is a super fun launch toy that you can launch over and over and even one for the younger set!
Marky Sparky Blast Pad Advanced Missile Launch System & Marky Sparky Junior Blast Pad
A favorite game
Apples to Apples Junior – The Game of Crazy Comparisons! and of course Perplexus
For the younger ones
Fisher-Price Shake ‘n Go! XTREME Speedway, Maxim Everearth Junior Racer, Melissa & Doug Deluxe Wooden Cutting Fruit Crate, & Playmobil 4242 Romans Egyptians Set Sphinx with Mummy
I’m sure if you have a kid that loves electronic games they have a list already but I thought this looked really fun!
LEGO Life of George Buiding Game for iPhone/iPod Touch 21200
It’s a Lego game for Ipod where it challenges you to build things with real Legos. you can also challenge a friend (or Mom/Dad) on 2 player mode.
Oh and speaking of Legos – I think I may have to randomly leave some of these out on Christmas morning
LEGO MiniFigure Speech Bubbles
This is not a list of the “hottest” toys this year but it’s a little list of some things that might not be on a list that I think are fun.
