My oldest has been SO excited for Guardians of the Galaxy to come out on Blu-Ray/DVD. When we took him to see it the first thing he said when we left the theater was “The music in that movie was AWESOME!” so I knew we’d have to get the soundtrack too. When we saw all the fun products at Walmart I knew a movie night was in order, especially since quite a few of our friends hadn’t even seen the movie yet!
I had plans to have a fun outdoor movie night but the weather decided against that for us. Indoor movie night it was!
I set up the food (and an activity) table and the boys helped decorate. We made the soundtrack the “theme” of the dance party and knew it was the right choice because everyone danced as they came in!
We had all kinds of food since we did a whole dinner (more food in the kitchen) + snacks.
The glowsticks were a great choice because they kept my niece enthralled when she wasn’t dancing!
I also set up an activity table for the boys/adults to play with before (and after) the movie.
It was so fun to just get together and relax after a long week!
What’s a party without a photobooth right?!
If you haven’t seen Guardians of the Galaxy yet – go get the Blu-Ray/DVD because it’s SO good! If you want to host your own movie night dance party here are some of the details of ours!
You can download the memory game, coloring pages, paper orb, maze and some signs for free here.
I made the banner and it’s available here. The Gamora activity table sign here. For the dancing baby Groot we just used paper bags, wire (optional) and clay pots.
For the blaster practice I made little stands out of corks (cut into 1/4ths and made a small slit) and inserted old CD’s for targets. Easy and fun!
The rest of the toys were purchased at Walmart!
A new movie is the perfect excuse to get friends/family together! Do you ever have movie night parties?
