A fun convertible toy made from just paper! You’ll need 8 squares of paper (we’ve made them from 4″ squares or 3″ squares) actual origami paper is a little slicker so slides a bit easier but regular paper works too.

Fold in half diagonally

Unfold then fold in half diagonally the other way

Unfold, turn over and fold in half horizontally

Open up color or pattern side down and poke in the center so the paper isn’t making a tent and your last fold is running horizontally

fold the top left corner down to meet the horizontal fold

Do the same to the bottom left corner

This next part is a bit confusing to explain so I hope the pictures help. When you get it once it will come easy to you. Take the center of the right side and bring it down to the bottom and fold in on that horizontal fold like this:

Repeat these same steps with the rest of your squares so you end up with 8 total

Now we’ll combine all the pieces. Start with 2 facing the same direction. Put the right piece into the fold of the left piece so you have some sticking out the top.

Fold each little corner sticking out of the left piece into the fold of the right piece (compare the last picture with this picture)

Pull the right piece down until it stops

Continue adding pieces on in the same way

Once you get to the last piece add it on as usual

Fold the last flaps into the first piece

You’re done!

To convert the frisbee to a star lightly push in on each side

It’s fun to keep changing it back and forth. You can throw it too!
