We couldn’t wait to get our hands on our own copy of MARVEL’s The Avengers: Age of Ultron on Blu-Ray/DVD as soon as it was released last week. This is one of our favorites and I knew that a movie night watch party was in order!
Halloween is actually my favorite time of year to have parties and stock up on costumes. My boys have always LOVED dressing up so I always pick up a few extra costumes (especially ones they can use to re-enact their favorite movie scenes) for our costume closet.
When hosting a movie party I always try to find something for the younger kids to do since they don’t usually sit still through a whole movie. Since this one is all about the super heros everyone loves I decided to make up a hero transformation room where the kids can morph into their favorite heros.
Snacks, costumes, Halloween candy, a new Blu-Ray/DVD…what more could you need for an awesome party?!
I made the boys’ favorite green smoothie (frozen bananas, apples, spinach, orange juice and some ice) in honor of Hulk.
We also had popcorn, Halloween candy, taquitos, crackers, tater tots and caramel apples! It was a fun way to have a little bit of Halloween to kick off the season! I made up little flags for the caramel apples with some of our favorite movie quotes.
I also made up a “Now Showing” poster to keep up in our living room that we can change whenever we’re having a movie night! Want to make your own? Just download this print, place in a frame and write your title with a dry erase marker.
To make the hero transformation screen you could use a large cardboard box if you have one. I made mine out of a project display board (you know the ones you use for a science project). I got 2 black display boards and used some supports with duct tape on the back so that I could stack them on top of each other.
I cut out letters and just glued them to the front (you could also paint or use chalk)!
Make sure to add costumes and a mirror to your hero transformation center!
We got these new costumes at Walmart in the costume/Halloween section when we picked up our new MARVEL’s The Avengers: Age of Ultron Blu-Ray/DVD (in the electronics section) they were only $15 for everything and they look great, can’t beat that to stock up the costume closet!
I love that Walmart always have movie posters too. We even picked up this inexpensive poster hanger and it was PERFECT for our snack bar. The paper fans are actually Halloween spider web decorations that I covered with some MARVEL themed shapes.
Be sure to check out all the fun MARVEL character costumes! I would love to hear about your MARVEL Halloween dress up plans!
