So it all started with a flood. A flood from the water heater which lead to new floors, which then led to the increased desire to update the kitchen. The faucet was getting a bit too warn in, the beverage faucet leaked and we never got around to using the soap dispenser because it really needed a new container and we just never got around to using it. So we figured an updated kitchen was the best idea. Ok obviously not the easiest, but definitely the best!
We painted the cabinets, lowered the countertop, added hardware and replaced the sink, faucet, beverage faucet and soap dispenser!
We did most all of the work ourselves and couldn’t be happier with how it turned out!
I was really excited to get the new sink and faucets in because the old sink went up against the raised counter and just trapped all kinds of water and boy messes that was a pain to clean up! Since the area is all opened up I went with the Tilt faucet which is compact, has the pull out design and came in Moen’s exclusive Spot Resist™ Stainless – which helps resist fingerprints and water spots.
We absolutely love the clean lines of this faucet the Sip beverage faucet and modern soap dispenser. Everything flows together and with the rest of the kitchen, is easy for the boys to use and easy for them to clean up.
The undermount sink is a simple stainless steel double-bowl kitchen sink with Moen’s Soundshield technology for noise reduction. Again, super easy to clean and even better with the bottom grid and rinse basket – who knew I’d love these so much. It’s great to have the rinse basket fit into the sink perfectly so the dishes are sitting out all over the counter.
To finish it all off we added some hardware to all the doors to help keep them clean and finish off the kitchen’s new look. I have to say I didn’t realize how different faucets could be until we got this one. It’s smooth, cleans SO easily and looks beautiful along with having a limited lifetime warranty.
Updating the kitchen is one of the best things we’ve done in the house. We feel like it’s so much more “us” and making it easier for the boys to clean up the right way has definitely helped in the chore department!
What would you change about your kitchen to make it more user friendly?

Love the photos above your cabinets! What a great spot to have them
Thank you! I threw them up there when we moved in because I couldn’t figure out where they’d go and there they stayed lol!
