We recently spent a fun weekend about 1 1/2 hours south of Phoenix at the Hilton Tucson El Conquistador Golf & Tennis Resort. We’ve had such a fun time this summer exploring our state with little staycations around Arizona! The Hilton El Conquistador is such a beautiful resort. You definitely feel like you’re on vacation!
The first thing we did was check out the pool which was really nicely laid out with a separate area for a younger kids pool, the spa, the rock slide and the main pool.
It was definitely our favorite part!
We really liked how the rooms were set up with a good space for lounging. The only thing it’s missing is a refrigerator so plan for that if you’re visiting!
It was a little overcast/rainy here and there the weekend we stayed and LOVED it! It was the perfect weather for a little trip to the nearby Pima Air & Space Museum. I definitely recommend a visit if you’re in the area! It has SO many planes that we were all impressed!
Tucson actually has quite a bit of fun places for kids. You can go to Visit Tucson for all kind of family activity ideas. We want to check out the zoo next time!
The Epazote Kitchen at the Hilton El Conquistador is really beautiful and the food was amazing both nights we ate there! They had a gluten free menu with a large variety of options and the food was absolutely delicious (not something you’ll hear me say often).
I think our second night was my favorite with an amazing sunset followed by a poolside movie AND Smore’s!
We think it’s a great spot for a weekend getaway especially towards the end of summer when you’re SO over the heat. You’ll be about 10 degrees cooler there (more if you’re lucky and come on an overcast weekend like us) at one point it was almost 75 degrees!
They still have some fun Conquer Summer packages and they even gave the kids a really cute passport to record their weekend memories in. I think their specials make it an especially great deal and they have a lot of great activities for kids!
(Disclosure: This trip was part of a media trip for Hilton Resorts of Arizona. All opinions are my own.)
