If you love LEGO or Star Wars you HAVE to watch the LEGO Star Wars Holiday Special on Disney+ if you haven’t yet! It’s hysterical and the more you know about Star Wars, the more you’ll laugh. We loved it so much and will definitely be watching it over and over. As soon as I saw Poe Dameron’s holiday or Life Day sweater I knew I had to make one and then Darth Vader showed up in a Death Star sweater so we made up one of those too!

First of all, yes there is a reference or two to the original Star Wars Holiday special if you have ever been lucky enough to see it (it’s BAD) and so many references to other Star Wars movies & shows all mixed in. It’s amazing so definitely give it a watch. Before you do, make yourself up this comfy “ugly” BB-8 sweater (or sweatshirt/t-shirt). You can find the actual Poe & Darth Vader minifigures wearing the sweaters in this year’s Star Wars Advent calendar too!

How to Make a Star Wars Life Day BB-8 Ugly Sweater

I have the Cricut file , an SVG file or the PNG file for you if you have a cutting machine or want to use it as a stencil. That’s definitely the easiest way to make this sweater. However, the design is just squares/pixels so you could definitely paint or make a stencil and make it even if you don’t have a machine at home. You could print out the file and then use it as a template and cut out the shapes on vinyl iron-on or use it as a stencil to draw and paint your own.

Another option if you don’t have a cutting machine is to print out the PNG file on printable iron-on paper (for dark shirts). Just make sure you adjust the size as needed before printing.

To make this sweater you’ll need:

sweatshirt
vinyl in white, red, and black
Cricut Machine (Air 2 or Maker)
Heatpress or iron

Using this file or this SVG – cut out the vinyl pieces, weed, and iron on. The colors will need to be layered so start with white, add red, and then black. Both of these were sized at 11.5″ and fit perfectly on a M and L sweatshirt.
