It’s Friday! 11 is definitely not too old for forts and random ones have been popping up around the house again lately. Maybe it’s a bit of Spring fever?Inside his fort he’s been finishing up school, reading and playing Disney Art Academy on his Nintendo 3DS. It just came out today and is such a fun mix of art and tech!
It walks you through lessons showing you real drawing skills with favorite Disney and Pixar characters. We just got back from Disneyland and my 11 year old always wants to do the Animation Academy in California Adventure where an artist teaches you how to draw a favorite character.Disney Art Academy is similar in that it uses your favorites but is teaching you real skills to create art you can be proud of.There are several art tools including a new Magic Brush and you can share your artwork through the Miiverse, through the game’s Image Share feature or by saving it on an SD card. Even better you can use your skills outside of the game. You can save your gallery too so you can show your family later. He’s been showing me new characters he’s drawn all week.I love seeing him learn new skills and then use them in the Free Paint Mode! This is a game that I like picking up and playing too! We think it’s great for kids who love to draw, want to learn to draw, want to learn to love to draw or just love Disney and Pixar characters.
