My Home Office and a Giveaway!

As many of you know, I work from home. What you might not know is that my “office” is in the front of the house visible for everyone. There is no closing the door on the mess that is my office, and it is always accessible and used heavily by the boys. While it’s not always in perfect condition it does need to be somewhat presentable.

One of my bigger problems right now is enough desktop space. The boys like to do homework on the desk but if I have my calendar, a couple bills, and my camera on the desk it seems that there is zero space left. I was SO excited to put up and try out the Wall Manager from Martha Stewart Home Office with Avery, available exclusively from Staples. I actually already use and love some of the Martha Stewart Home Office products in the office and even sometimes in my scrapbooking so I knew I would love the brand.

I’m usually begging Mr. All for the Boys to hang things up for me so they are perfected to his liking (I’m more of a hang it up and eye it sort of person). The way this wall organizer is made is SO smart.

To hang there is a backing with a small amount of adhesive. Use the built in level to get it straight on the wall. The adhesive keeps it in place and you hammer in with included micro nails. SO easy and so awesome. To place multiple squares together you use the alignment marks on each to place them in just the right spot. I can’t tell you how excited I was about this feature. I hung them up perfectly completely by myself.

Since I don’t have a ton of wall space I chose to keep them to the left of me in a row using different accessories to meet my immediate needs. What’s cool is I can change it up whenever I need to!

To the right of where I sit I incorporated the cork board into my little wall gallery. I LOVE getting some of this stuff up on the wall and off the desk, creating a ton more desk space for me and the boys.

The Wall Manager comes in white or black to fit any room. I think this would be perfect for above the boys’ desks in their rooms whenever I get around to getting them! Room desks tend to be smaller and this would definitely help!

  3. Oh yes. I need what you have. I'd take a photo of my desk, but I can't actually see it right now…

I'd use the wall manager to take some things off the desk so I could concentrate on tasks at hand!!

  4. I would use it in my 9 year old son's room, above his desk, in an effort to get him a little more organized.

  5. I am just working on redoing my guest room into a guest/craft/mommy's hideout room. I got a small desk and this system would be perfect to complete my space.

  6. This is perfect timing. We just moved our boys into one room. We are now redecorating the other room to be an office. I would use it too organize my scrapbooking materials. This way they are not with the boys' craft supplies.

Our home office is a train wreck. My husband has piles of paper laying on the desk and floor. I have a pile of papers, bills, to-do's in a pile. It is chaos. I would gladly use that gift card to take clutter off of the desk and organize our office. Magazine holders, wall-mounted organizers, etc and have some neatness and finally some desk space back.

  8. I would use it by my work computer….it's a mess back there and it could use lots of organization!!

  9. I would LOVE this for my kitchen! We use the kitchen table for school work, craft time, you name it… This would be perfect to organize all our stuff.

I love your office! I work from home too and I would love this for my office/home school room!! Thanks =)

  11. I, too, work from home in a household of boys! We've outgrown our current home, and my old office is now the baby's room. I now have a corner of our bedroom to serve as my home office. Space is quite limited, so I would certainly use this to keep things tidy. I would love to be able to use more wall space in a aesthetic pleasing way!

  12. I want to make a 'communication station' in my kitchen. I would love to put up a whiteboard and whiteboard calendar along with some bins. All to keep the schedules of the kids school and such for hubby and I.

  13. Our kitchen computer office could definitely use some help with organization. Thanks Love your blog!!

  14. Wow! I honestly was just at Staples on Saturday and saw these. I was going to do a google seach this week to see if I could use them near my desk which desperately need more storage and to see if people like them. I never seem to have enough space for things like paperclips, note pads, etc. After seeing them in your space I now really really want them. Thanks for the giveaway.

  15. My home office is also right at the front of the house with no doors to close it off. Any guest has to walk through it to get to the kitchen. I could seriously use some organizational help in there!

  16. I would use it in our kids' studio to carve out a little "momma space".

  17. I would organize my desk area which is in our family room in full view of everyone. I am in full nesting mode (I'm due in about 6 weeks) and was just this morning thinking my desk area was driving me crazy. Duh! The answer is up off the desk and onto the wall! I really hope I win! πŸ™‚

  18. I seriously need to upgrade my supply storage; they currently live in plastic bins and deserve better homes. πŸ™‚ I would clear out all the bins and replace with the Wall Manager.

  19. I would use it in my homework area I have set up for my boys to corral the pencils, glue, scissors, etc. and keep them away from the 17 month old!

  20. How and where would you use the Martha Stewart Home Office with Avery Wall Manager products? I would absolutely use them for my home office (photography business). I would use them to organize my client list and keep my sessions in order!

  21. My art/craft room. Don’t really have a big room (part of basement) and would love to win this so I can organize it better. Need some organization especially I am going to start some art classes for some kids. Thanks for the chance!

  22. I'd love to better organize my craft room- labeling containers, organizing pages I've torn out of magazines, hanging favorite recent projects of mine and those of my 5yr old… lots of organizing to be done!

  23. I would use this system in my kitchen area to help organize our papers, keys, phones, coupons, etc.

  24. I would use these to organize all of my crafting gear that is currently sitting on my desk and in the closet so it would be easier to use and I could remember what I have.

I would use this in our bedroom. We have our computer in here, and my husband is so messy with all his papers and pens, etc. This would be great for him.

I'm moving my scrapbook room in with my husband's office (he works from home). I'm a messy scrapper and he is OCD organized. Getting some organization help myself is going to be key to us surviving sharing a space together!!

  29. Fatcatpaulanne Reply

Well, I'd use it in my home office, of course. I work from home and all the things I need to keep close to my computer are messy. I LOVE the build in level. How cool is that?

  30. These would make life in my homeschool/craft room MUCH easier and more organized!

  31. I currently do not have a home office and am in the process of turning an empty guest bedroom into a usable work space. I would use the Martha Stewart Home Office with Avery Wall Manager products to get a jump start on organizing the new space! Thank you for the chance to win.
