I have always loved the Peanuts comics and characters. I think it came from my mom or maybe my grandparents. Every holiday or birthday card was always a Peanuts card. The first comic I read in the Sunday paper was always Peanuts. Needless to say I am super excited for the new movie coming out on November 6th!
Apparently I’m not the only one, because even Safeway and Albertsons are getting in on the fun with a fun campaign over the next couple of weeks! When you buy 3 participating products you get a free (super cute) Peanuts trick or treat bag. They have signs all over the stores showing you which brands are participating. We just had to get one of those bags so we added some of the items to our list on our last trip and thought it would be fun to create some Peanuts themed snacks to get ready for the movie!
The boys always request popcorn at the store so adding some Pop Secret to the cart was a no brainer. We love popcorn for a quick, easy snack the boys can make themselves.
It’s hard to impress the boys but they LOVED helping me create these easy Charlie Brown snacks. We picked up a couple of packs of the Red Baron pizzas (which are part of the Albertsons or Safeway promotion) because my 12 year old can actively help make them. With some cut up olives, we added a chevron pattern to make them look like Charlie Brown’s shirt!
Some of the things we always have in our cart, pantry or fridge are corn tortillas and Horizon organics cheese (which aren’t part of the promotion but many other Horizon Organics products are like our favorite mac & cheese). We created some fun Charlie Brown quesadillas the same way we did the pizzas with cut up olives!
Whether you make fun Peanuts snacks or not, definitely check out this great promotion. The bags are so cute, and hey, you can’t go wrong with a free trick or treat bag!
