I LOVE parties. Going to them, hosting them, planning them… I also love awesome parties that are EASY. Parties that kids remember but that didn’t take a lot of prep or shopping. Estes sent us some rockets to check out and after playing with them over and over I knew I had to share this party idea with you if you’re looking for a unique idea.
We’ve always loved Estes rockets but I wasn’t sure if these simple air rockets would have as much of a wow factor as the models with an engine. They definitely do and are so easy to launch over and over and over (which is perfect for a party).
To host a simple rocket party, go light on the decorations. Make the plate/fork/drink station the “party” station. No need to hang decorations all over the house, just use one area works and gets the point across.
Keeping food to something like pizza, a large sub or hot dogs/hamburgers is always a hit. Throw out some easy snacks for hungry kids as well.
Use the rockets as decorations before you go out to play. That way the kids can check them out beforehand too!
Then, let the rockets keep the kids busy. They are so fun to keep launching over and over. Estes even has a party pack if you want to let the kids take one home afterwards (great idea).
Here’s some of the rockets in action! They go so fast and so high it’s hard to catch them on camera.
If you have some kids who want something else to do grab some light up balloons as “planets” or make some rockets out of paper or straws or try the tea rockets! I love both of these projects because they give you something to play with after they’re done making it.
