It’s always been important to me to educate my kids on where National holidays came from and what they mean, Memorial Day is one that often gets lumped in with Veteran’s Day or even the 4th of July and while they are similar, they are all individual holidays remembering/celebrating/memorializing different things.
If you have someone in your family who did, or is currently, serving our country in the military they could probably tell you about families who never get to see their loved ones come home. If you don’t or want to teach your kids a bit more here are some quick easy links to remind them how Memorial Day started and what it’s all about:

- Participate in the National Moment of Remembrance. Wherever you are, whatever you are doing today at 3pm local time, pause for 1 minute and have a moment of silence.
