I’ve mentioned before that I used Valentine’s Day as an excuse to do something fun with my boys without going over the top. When they were toddlers their FAVORITE thing to do was have picnics. For them picnics meant small or fun shaped food and a special dessert. This Teddy Bear Cake from THESE (yes he’s an ice cream cake) is the perfect special treat for your Valentines! I put it together for a fun and simple teddy bear picnic that would be fun for the whole family.
Pick up a Teddy Bear Cake in store or buy online so it’s ready for your picnic. You can even personalize cakes with any Baskin-Robbins ice cream flavors, including classics like Pralines ‘n Cream, Rocky Road and seasonal favorites like February Flavor of the Month Chocolate Hazelnut. I got my guys mint chocolate chip!
If you don’t have a traditional picnic blanket I’ve got one HERE you can print out to make little placemats. You can set up inside if it’s cold or outside if you’re like us and are having perfect picnic weather.
Cut meat, cheese, fruit or veggies into teddy bear shapes (or paw prints would be cute too) and serve in a muffin tin or on paper plates. Add a snack like popcorn and teddy bear shaped crackers. Of course the kids can include their teddy bears in on the fun! You can get as creative if you want with the food. I always like to keep it easy so a cookie cutter it is.
To keep the fun going, print out THESE teddy bear shapes, hide them around the house or yard and go on a bear hunt! Older kids can see who can find the most, little ones will just have fun hunting with you.
Once you’re done with your hunt every age kid will love snacking on the Teddy Bear Cake! The cake has a chocolate icing coat; ears made of OREO® Cookies, is accessorized with a cute red scarf and can be personalized with a special message. Plus, it’s delicious! Even if you have big kids like mine, a themed dinner or lunch is a fun, silly way to tell them that their special to you. Do you do anything special for Valentine’s Day?

Aw I love the teddy bear cake. I have a soft spot for Valentines Day too. Even though it’s also my birthday I enjoy celebrating it with boys. Ice cream cake is my absolute favorite!
