Guess where we went a week or so ago?!

The Happiest Place on Earth – Disneyland! (and California Adventure)

We were excited to see the new Mickey and the Magical Map and made it a point to schedule it into our day! We started off in California Adventure.

Of course Carsland is a must see at California Adventure – you can read about our last trip with tons of photos of Carsland HERE

New in California Adventure (to us) was Monsters University! We loved looking at all the details of the school set up

We got to see our new favorite character Art in the Pixar Play Parade!

After lunch we headed over to Disneyland to ride a few rides before Mickey and the Magical Map

Did you know when you walk through the castle and look down you’ll see this little marker. It used to mark the exact center of the park (the park has since expanded but it was still fun for Parker to point out to us)

On our way to Mickey and the Magical Map we got stopped by a parade which was a blessing in disguise! My boys have recently watched Lilo & Stitch and The Lion King. My 8 year old LOVES The Lion King and was hoping to see some characters. In the parade that we happened upon was a Lion King float! He was so excited. Gotta love that Disney magic!

Mickey and the Magical Map is in an open air theater in Fantasyland. I was really very happily surprised at how easy it was to walk in and find seats.

I wasn’t quite sure what to expect but the show had us right from the start. There’s a big digital screen mixed in with real life characters (including Mickey) and the way they’ve incorporated them together is SO well done! You get to experience different parts of the map seeing different characters and music.

Those guys were IN the bubbles!

My boys were super excited when the Hawaiian music started.

The show is REALLY well done and I definitely recommend that you see it next time you’re there! It’s a great place to take a little rest, grab a drink and watch a fantastic show.

Nighttime at Disneyland has it’s own feel. We always ride Autopia at night!

and visit Fantasyland

You can read more about the technology behind Mickey and the Magical Map on the Disney Parks Blog

Have you seen or heard of Mickey and the Magical Map yet?

(Disclosure: We recieved a couple media passes to the Disneyland Resort but were not required to post and were not compensated in any other way. All experiences and opinions are our own.)

  1. Mickey & The Magical Map is a great place to go with children because we can say it is a kid inspiration place. We can view here the technologies used. These are awesome. I like the digital big screen used here. With digital technology we are now achieving all heights that we do not even think of. So, we have to stay updated with the technologies and have to know what is digitization and how we can get better and better services from it.
