What’s Your #RedKettleReason? (Plus $100 Sweepstakes)

We may earn money or products from the companies mentioned in this post. Please see policies for more information.

I LOVE the holidays. It has always been such a magical and loving time of year for me, but also a time that makes me realize, more than ever, how much we have been blessed with. This time of year it really starts to weigh on my heart to come up with different ways to give back and help others. The Salvation Army has always had a big local presence during the holidays and this year they are doing a video contest encouraging people to share their #RedKettleReason for a chance to win a shopping spree for kids in need. First, here’s my #RedKettleReason:   Allison Waken from All for the Boys

So are you ready to share your #RedKettleReason? The Salvation Army is calling Americans to share their #RedKettleReason for a chance to win a closed to the public, all expenses paid Salvation Army Giving Spree benefitting their local Salvation Army children’s shelter or children’s program.

Here’s what you have to do – Upload your video to Twitter, YouTube, Instagram, or Vimeo and then tweet a link to your video using both the #RedKettleReason and #GivingSpreeSweeps hashtags. In addition to sharing why the spirit of giving is so important to you, try to describe why your particular community deserves to win. If you have a personal connection to The Salvation Army, such as having been helped or knowing someone who’s been helped in the past, talk about that!

The Salvation Army Giving Spree finalists will be announced on December 1, 2015, Giving Tuesday and will be featured on RedKettleReason.org for voting

As an added bonus: how about a little sweepstakes here? Tell me what your #RedKettleReason is in the comments below and you will be entered to win a $100 Visa gift card!

My #RedKettleReason is to give back as much as I’m able. We don’t have a lot, but we are blessed in so many ways. If I can’t give with money, I try to give with time.
