Have the kids completely raided your kitchen yet? Summer means lots of friends (and food) so I’m always remembering or looking up recipes the boys can make on their own. This simple fruit dip is one we made when I was a kid. I’m not sure where it started, maybe Mom found it in a magazine? Either way, it’s simple, oh so delicious and easy to make your own with different add-ins!
All you need for this easy dip is an 8oz block of cream cheese and a 7oz jar of marshmallow whip. That’s it!
It’s easiest to mix it with a hand or stand mixer, but you can do it without too.
My favorite is plain like this but you can add vanilla or other extracts, fruit juice or puree, coconut, chocolate chips, peanut butter, cocoa powder, cinnamon and brown sugar… the possibilities are really endless!
If your kids like to get fancy show them how to put the dip in a piping bag to pipe it into a dish. Or, just eat it out of the mixing bowl. Less dishes that way!
The things you can dip are just about as endless. Fruit is always good – berries, frozen bananas, apples, oranges, melon etc. You could also dip cookies, candy fried tortilla chips with cinnamon/sugar… You get the idea 😉
- 8oz block of cream cheese
- 7oz jar marshmallow creme (store bought or homemade)
- Add softened ingredients to bowl
- Mix with a hand mixer
- Add additional flavorings or mix-ins if desired
This was a favorite of mine, do you have a favorite recipe to share that we can make for the blog? Let me know!
