Want to get your kids excited for some Fall crafting? I did so I pitched this idea to the boys and they were excited to work on it!
You’ll need a craft pumpkin (a black one would work well but we had lots of these white ones), paint, paper, toothpicks and tape.
Trace a square onto the pumpkin so you’ll know just where to cut.
Cut out with a craft knife.
Apply a couple coats of lime green acrylic paint to the inside (this gets a bit messy, but is fun).
While it’s drying trace the creeper face onto thick cardstock. We used a ruler and make each “pixel” 1/2 inch so the face would fit inside this pumpkin.
Cut out the face leaving enough paper to hold the eyes onto the nose/mouth. Attach 2 toothpicks with some tape. We colored the bottom of the toothpicks with a Sharpie just to get it to blend in a bit.
Once the paint is completely dry you can stick the face into the bottom of the pumpkin.
We loved that you could turn the pumpkin around if you wanted and no one would know.
Then at night, you could add a battery operated candle and turn it around!
We’re thinking maybe making a Minecraft scene in another pumpkin. What would you put in it?!
Please share your creations if you were inspired by this project. We’d love to see it!
