Disney's Big Hero 6 ReviewFrom Walt Disney Animation Studios (“Frozen,” “Wreck-It Ralph”) comes “Big Hero 6,” an action-packed comedy-adventure about the special bond that develops between plus-sized inflatable robot Baymax (voice of Scott Adsit), and prodigy Hiro Hamada (voice of Ryan Potter), who team up with a group of friends to form a band of high-tech heroes.”

Big Hero 6 hits theaters today (November 7, 2014)

Disney's Big Hero 6 ReviewTo answer the question – YES! We loved, loved, loved Big Hero 6. It is so good. Great animation, lessons and humor. We have been excited to see the movie since we saw a sneak preview at Disneyland and it was even better than we thought! There is some death of characters that might be very sad for sensitive kids but they deal with it very well (in my opinion). The “bad guy” is pretty scary looking but most of the scenes aren’t too intense like most super hero movies (which are intended for older audiences). My kids would have been completely fine seeing it when they were younger (as always that will depend on your child).

The most inspiring part of the film, to me, is that the “super heros” didn’t have special powers. They used creativity and knowledge to do some amazing things. They are makers, inventors and tinkerers. I love that they are making some awesome characters to look up to and strive to be like.

Of course Baymax is super lovable and one of our favorite characters but we also loved Fred.

Disney's Big Hero 6 ReviewAs usual there is an amazing short film, Feast,  before Big Hero 6 that you won’t want to miss. I can’t wait to see either again!

Disney's Big Hero 6 ReviewHere’s what the boys thought of Big Hero 6:

12 year old: “I thought Big Hero 6 was really funny. Baymax is cool and made me laugh a lot. I liked how the city that it takes place in is a mixture of San Francisco and Tokyo. The animation was really good too! It’s one of my favorite Disney movies in a long time!

10 year old: “I thought it was really funny and some parts were really sad but I wasn’t too sad at the end. I liked how they used their inventions to make them be like super heroes.

HERE are some fun printable activities you can do before or after the movie and HERE is a DIY Baymax costume. Come back and tell us what you/your kids thought!
