I don’t know about you but I can’t WAIT to experience the world of Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge at Disneyland this summer. They announced early on that reservations would be needed at first, so I thought I’d lay out some info on how exactly you get tickets or reservations to get into the new Star Wars Land at Disneyland.
Reservations at Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge
Reservations are required to enter Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge between May 31 and June 23. During this time period, you will need valid theme park admission AND a reservation to enter the new land. These reservations are SOLD OUT aside from one exception.
Guests staying at a Disneyland® Resort hotel between May 31 and June 23 can STILL get a Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge reservation. If you are able to Star Wars Land at Disneyland between May 31 and June 23 you will receive a designated reservation to visit Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge during your stay (one reservation per registered guest; valid theme park admission required).
You’ll definitely want to book your reservations ASAP because the pickings are slim. I HIGHLY recommend booking through our partners at Get Away Today. They offer an amazing free service and save you time and money on your trips. They are Disneyland pros and have people on hand to help you with anything that may arise. They even offer some awesome layaway packages if you’re booking for later!
Can you get into Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge Without a Reservation?
Not between May 31 and June 23. You will have to have a reservation if you are wanting to visit between these dates. AFTER June 23 you will no longer need a reservation.
How To Visit Star Wars Galaxy’s Edge
On June 24, 2019, the Disneyland® Resort will implement a virtual queuing system to visit Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge. The Disneyland® app will have a dedicated module called Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge – from there guests can request to join a boarding group to visit the land, but only AFTER they have entered the park.
Boarding groups will be sent a notification when it is their turn to enter the land and they can monitor the status of boarding groups from the app. Guests will have two hours to show up for their boarding pass entry after receiving their notification. If you do not have access to a smartphone or are not using the Disneyland® app, you will have the ability to join a boarding group from select kiosk locations inside Disneyland® Park (but I highly recommend using the app).
Admission into Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge will be subject to capacity, and having an assigned boarding group will not guarantee entrance to the land.
