Who doesn’t love a good party trick?! I always liked to learn new ones like this to “trick” the boys with. These are the ones that you can start off with “I bet you can’t…” or “Do you think I can…”
All that you’ll need for this simple trick is a piece of paper, some tape (or glue), and scissors.
To begin this trick you’ll need to assemble the two rings. Begin by cutting two strips that are the same length and width. I used regular printer paper and cut two one and a half inch strips.
Then tape each strip onto itself to form a ring. Then you’ll want to tape them together with one rotated 90 degrees to match the picture below.
Now you’ve finished preparing the trick. When you’re ready to perform it, begin to cut one of the rings all the way through the other ring it’s connected to. It helps to fold or bend it a little to make it easier to cut. The product should resemble the picture below.
Almost done! The next step is to cut the middle strip of paper length-wise through it and both rings. After you’ve done that, unfold the little contraption and it should resemble either a rectangle or a square.
That’s it! After you’ve finished, show your audience or onlookers the finished product of your trick. With variations of how you perform this trick you can make it a magic trick, or just a simple party trick. You could even be extra creative and draw something on the paper to spice it up or make it more entertaining. This trick is really puzzling unless you payed a lot of attention as to how it was performed. Now you can try it on your kids and then teach them how to do it so they can show it to others!
