Reveal Time Spent in the Kitchen + Giveaway!

We may earn money or products from the companies mentioned in this post. Please see policies for more information.

Since we re-did the kitchen we have been spending A LOT more time in it. Most of the meals the boys eat here are happening on the counter. They also sit and play games while we get dinner ready or while they’re learning to make meals on their own. I’ve never put much thought into the light bulbs in the kitchen, probably because I haven’t upgraded the lighting yet.

GE Reveal Lighting

My youngest wanted a fondue pot for Christmas and he got one with a cookbook so the boys have been begging to make fondue since then. We had a free night and decided to make it one of our date nights. We have nights where we make/eat a meal together and usually play a game or two (family date night). I figured it was a perfect time to test our new GE reveal® lights and see how much of a difference they could make in illuminating the space.

As you can see the lighting definitely did make a difference! While the boys taste tested their fondue recipe I switched out the lights and took some more photos. We ended up loving the fondue and the new lighting in the kitchen!

Family “date nights” are the best, whether it’s a simple fondue after the craziness of the day or a full on meal I just love taking it all in.

We didn’t have many ingredients for the recipes they wanted to make so we made up our own on this night: a bag of chocolate chips, some heavy cream, vanilla and cinnamon. We just melted the chocolate over a double broiler and mixed in the other ingredients as needed/to taste. Super simple but good and the boys finally got to use the fondue pot!

After fondue we played the new family favorite game “Shut the Box” which is quick, easy and fun. Everyone noticed the difference in the lighting and we can’t wait to reveal more around the home!

I would love to brighten up my kids playroom. Its so dark. They would love having more light in there!

  3. I’d love to reveal my kid’s bedrooms, as they are the darkest rooms in the house, although that means I would see more mess… so maybe I need to rethink this!

  4. I would like to reveal the study room for kids, better lighting would be helpful since they spend more time in the room for homework.

  5. I’d like to reveal more of my desk space in the computer room with GE reveal lighting.

  6. I would like to reveal true lighting in out apartment dining room – it currently has a flood light that reflects on surfaces makes it difficult to read or do schoolwork with our homeschoolers. We also need to improve the light quality at the kids’ desks for homework.

I would love to have my family room revealed with better lighting because it is too dark to read.

  8. I would love to reveal my sons curiosity in the kitchen and how things work.

  9. Thank you for sharing this giveaway. I’m sure everyone could use more lighting. I have a kitchen counter that doesn’t have any lights over it and the light from the rest of the kitchen is at my back only to add more shadows while trying to work in this area.

  17. I want to reveal my face in the morning when I am applying makeup.

  18. I just love having my 3 year old in the kitchen with me while I’m baking! She loves using her own whisk to help mama stir the batter. She hasn’t perfected the art of cracking the egg, but neither have I 😉 the best part is her 5mo old sister gets to watch us too! Soon she’ll be joining in on the fun!!

  19. The current fixture in our study came with the house and is an ENORMOUS chandelier that just looks ridiculous in the small room – and even young children hit their heads on it! I just ordered a new light fixture today and can’t wait to reveal the room’s new look once it’s up!
