Pita pizzas are easy, can be made with all sorts of different ingredients already in your house, and are fun to experiment with. Use white or wheat pita bread and top with whatever you think sounds good. The pita bread creates the perfect easy base for teens to experiment with to create their own unique combinations. This easy pita pizza recipe uses 3 types of cheese including Shamrock Farms cottage cheese!
With my boys home more than ever this summer we’ve gotten into a habit of trying new recipes. I’ve always wanted the boys to learn how to cook for themselves (and do it well) so they are familiar with following recipes but this summer we’ve explored creating some new easy recipes of their own. Pita pizzas are easy, can be made in a million different combinations, and are always a hit with the teens in our house. Our latest recipe uses Shamrock Farms cottage cheese to add protein tons of creaminess. We’ll be sharing more teen recipe ideas over the next few weeks/months so feel free to send us some ideas to try.
Easy 3 Cheese Pita Pizza
This recipe came about when I challenged the boys to use some Shamrock Farms cottage cheese I had in the fridge beyond just eating it from the container like they normally do. They looked up some ideas online and ultimately decided they wanted to try it on a pizza even though they weren’t quite sure about it yet.
On any of our pita pizzas we just heat up the bread a bit first, add toppings, and then pop it back in the oven to warm all the way through and melt the cheese. You can do this on the grill too!
You can get the boys’ full (easy recipe) right from Shamrock Farms HERE! Let us know if you or your teens try it out and how you like it!
Shamrock Farms Coupons & Recipe Ideas
I almost always have Shamrock Farms cottage cheese or sour cream in our fridge. I love that it’s from an almost 100-year-old dairy right here in AZ, comes from cared-for cows and we can definitely taste/see a difference from other brands we’ve tried. I actually had a different brand of sour cream in the fridge last month and everyone complained lol! They changed up their packaging a bit so keep an eye out if you’re shopping in-store. I’ve been ordering all mine online lately so I was surprised to see a new design!
